Never Back Down Show

show1This event as always didn’t fail in its task to showcase Muaythai locally in Cornwall.

Considering Touchgloves gym has only just released this “new breed” of students,it was evident to see the improvements made over the past 6 months.
With independent judges and officials by IBMTO (Birmingham,Oxford,Cambridge,Woking),the Touchgloves team gained their 7 victories by efficient Muaythai scoring and an obvious integrated high level of understanding the sport.

The teaching at Touchgloves Cornwall has moved forward consistently through the past 2 decades and this show proved that hitting pads and being fit was only a base for the mostly novice team.

Main event highlights of the show included British champion Vicky church crushing any doubts from her previous outing as to her standard of ability by defeating Spain’s Victoria Lomax in a blistering performance over 5 x 2 minute rounds of their European championship.

To get an idea of the level of the challenge Vicky faced.it was known that her opponent was just 2 weeks away from a world title bout scheduled against Annabel gely from keddles gym for the ISKA world title.

Tommy “zoom” Green travels 100 miles round trip to train at Touchgloves gym.

This was a rematch bout against Mace Ruegg who has undoubtably matured into one of the United Kingdoms best juniors to date.

Tommy’s patience, skill and scoring ability showed immediate effect and although he wasn’t able to nullify maces strength throughout the 5 rounds, his composure and timing scored the appropriate muaythai techniques to become the new British -42kg champion.

The full results are as follows as compiled by awakening female fighters who were once again in awe of not just how many female fights were carded but also the matchmaking quality by promoter and founder of touchgloves Nathan kitchen.
